Blood in Five Christian Bible Translations:

Hebrews 9
22   And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. (KJV)

Hebrews 9
22In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. (NIV)

Hebrews 9
22 And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission. (ASV)

Hebrews 9
22   and with blood almost all things are purified according to the law, and apart from blood-shedding forgiveness doth not come. (YLT)

Hebrews 9
22   and almost all things are purified with blood according to the law, and without blood-shedding there is no remission. (Darby)

All Christian bibles say the same thing, more or less. And they claim their authority from the Old Testament Leviticus 17:11:

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul." (KJV)

Scholars, rabbis and learned Jews know that this chapter and verse in Leviticus was the prohibition of drinking/eating of blood, but that is another story.

One of the central themes in these Christian bibles is they all say; “according to the law.” The next Christian theme is that without the shedding of blood there is no atonement. Most Christians only remember the second theme ― blood is needed to atone for sin.

So, if you had a wild night, sinned much and in the morning while shaving, cut yourself ― would blood atone for your sins? This is only using the Christian logic shown above. But wait! You didn’t perform the atonement according to the Laws. Right? That would indeed nullify any blood-letting on your part, BECAUSE, according to Leviticus, THE LAW:

1.  Only the Kohen has the authority to provide atonement

2.  The atonement MUST be presented on the Altar of the Temple

3.  If it is an animal-sin offering, the animal must be without blemish

Well, well, looks like this leaves out Jesus. 1, 2 and 3: three strikes and you are out!

1.  No Priest provided any atonement.

2.  Jesus died on a cross outside of the Temple.

3.  Jesus was full of blemishes, bleeding from the head, his back and side, and don’t forget, he was also circumcised (all according to the NT).

So, what is the Christian reply? Do they forget the rules of  their god’s (Invisible Man in the Sky) Laws and stubbornly be “stiff-necked” like  faith-blinded sheep being led by the pulpit? Do they accept the catchy phrases that are sung in so many of their songs ― that they need the blood of Jesus to atone for their sins? Or do they begin to think for themselves and see the oxymoron?

Listen to some of the bloody hymns they sing, as they sway hypnotically.

Are You Washed In The Blood?
Jesus Thy Blood and Righteousness
Saved By The Blood
Nothing But The Blood

The Blood-washed Pilgrim
There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood
There Is Power In The Blood

"I cannot conceive of a personal god who would directly influence the actions of individuals, or would directly sit in judgment on creatures of his own creation." -Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Citation of Hebrew scripture and sources in articles or analyses is not in any way an acceptance, approval or validation of the Jewish religion, its works or scriptures. The Hebrew bible, like the Christian New Testament, is fictitious; From a 6-day creation of the universe; a cunning, walking, talking snake; big fish tales; world flood and an "Invisible Man in the Sky" ― it is all fiction, a bold sham perpetrated on mankind.
