BAPTISM – 666

Compare the following:

The author of Revelation states that a mystical number 666 will recognize the “beast.”

“The beast known as the antichrist causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bound to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads. And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had that mark.” Revelation 13:16-17

Throughout the Christian era, millions of infants, adults and converts have been accepted into the Christian Church upon the merits of them receiving the sign of the cross upon their foreheads during baptism.

The priest, pastor or minister in the ceremony of millions of Christian baptisms, having dipped his right hand in the water sprinkles the water upon the forehead, marking with it the sign of the cross, the initial of Christ, making the one who receives his mark Christ’s own possession―a Christian.

As he sprinkles the water with his right hand, the priest declares: “I sign you with the cross, the sign of Christ” (The Alternative Service Book of the Church of England , 1980). After performing this act, placing the sign of the cross on the forehead, the priest, or pastor, or minister then addresses the word of welcome into the church by saying; “God had received you by baptism into the church.” The congregation then says together: “We welcome you into the Lord’s family.” The baptized one is now assured of salvation according to these Christian rites.

Christians, since you believe your bible to be the word of God, can there be a more flagrant counterfeit of the original use of the sign than when the right hand marks the Christ sign on one’s forehead? Read from Revelation 13:16-17; “He (the beast) causes all to receive a mark in their “right hand or on their foreheads.”
