ABRACADABRA
Hugh
Fogelman
Christians say that “abracadabra” is a prayer to
the devil because it comes from, “abba cadaver”―Father of the dead.
Abracadabra does have a Hebrew or Aramaic origin, but it is not father of the
dead, as cadaver has a Latin not a Hebrew root, and the first word is “abra” not abba.
Actually it is pure Aramaic, “A b'ra ki daber” which means “I create
with words.”
Sorry Christians, there is “No prayer to the devil. “
